pro bo·no pu·bli·co (adj./adv.): for the public good

Unprecedented weather patterns and natural disasters; a growing number of climate-change refugees; polluted air, water, and food; melting ice, shrinking forests, and an expanding ozone hole — all show that our planet is on the brink of disaster. Atmospheric CO2 levels have reached an unsustainably high number, and the U.S. is the world’s second-largest contributor. Pollution will only increase, as politicians continue to silence or ignore scientific truths. Millions of Americans, like those in Flint, Michigan, suffer unsafe drinking water. Fossil fuel pipelines like Dakota Access carve up indigenous land and threaten people’s safety. Factories pollute the air and water of marginalized communities. We must work to defend our planet and our health. Find an organization and lend a hand now.
