LGBTQIA Rights

The rights of the LGBTQIA community have made great advances in recent decades, but the struggle continues. Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual people are still fighting for many basic rights.  Struggles include discrimination in education, immigration, the criminal justice system, and the workplace. Trans-people are prohibited from using bathrooms that align with their gender. Trans-people — especially people of color — face daily violence and even death; LGBTQIA folks are disproportionately incarcerated. The rights of same sex-couples are under attack and local and federal legislation is threatening to divide families. Find an organization that’s working to protect and support the LGBTQIA community.
