Women’s Rights and Reproductive Health

Women continue to face discrimination and injustice.  Unequal employment opportunities, the gender wage gap, lack of available and affordable childcare, and harassment and violence at home and work affect women’s success and wellbeing. Women are significantly more likely to be poor than men; 35% of single mothers live in poverty. Women’s healthcare is under threat as organizations providing adequate and affordable care to women are increasingly underfunded. Cutting women’s healthcare compromises crucial education on safe sex and STI (sexually transmitted infections) prevention, and increases the likelihood of unwanted pregnancies. Cutbacks disproportionately affect low-income and minority women. Protect and promote women’s rights by working for an organization fighting for them.
